Dear Mother:–

It is 5.30 P.M. Supper is over and I was out in the yard a minuite ago washing, heinie come over and pushed over board about a dozen bombs you could here the excitement among the french families, I just thot if they followed use over the top once, they would think this bomb droping was a joak ever after. They can drop bombs as often as they like and I will not loose any sleep as long as they don't put me over the top, but I guess I woulden't loose any sleep if I was going over the top either. I slept right until the co'y comonder said get out of the trench and the barage opened up the 26th, I did not loose any sleep at all. We just walked along after the barages that took every thing in front of it. Once we got into it so we turned and come back a cupple of rods untill it crept on then we went forward just at a slow walk. When we got to our objective we dug in, each man carried a shovel to dig in with, I got a dandy long letter from Clive also one from Leah last night. It was the first letter I have had from Clive for quite a while.

The Doctor gave use a good lecture this a.m. the more lectures I here the more interest I get in my work.

I surely can't write tonight I feel as tho I had nothing to say at all.

The pictures you sent me were fine ones I like to have I have looked at them over and over.

It is warm to day no frost at all  I suppose you and Teddy will be alone by now, I hope Horace and Lottie will find freinds in each other that will mean heart to heart freinds for life.
