Dear Mother:–

This is a dandy A.M. we had a march if a cupple of miles with just belts and gass masks and mess tins, It was partly cloudy and cool just right for the march, I am in a big Y.M.C.A. hut, the band is playing in another room the canteen center has a line up of half a dozen deep and twenty four feet across,

We will see some very good sports today for there are some able men among the troops,

I had thot of writing a good long letter but seem to be run out of any thing to say, I ran across big Bill Barns this A.M. he is looking fine and gave me a lot of news and etc.

One of our boys got nocked out boxing last night, but was all right again in a few minuites.

The scene today is just the same as last year thru August and often in September so I am familiar with all the paths thru the woods and the parade grounds and canteens, etc, we past a lot of Chinese come down there is a lot of good jolly fellows and they seem big and strong nothing like our western Chinese at all,

Mother dinner and supper are both over and I am waiting for the next things to start at 6 P.M, boxing and foot ball.

I had a good dinner McKeith and I had a can of peas and package of ginger snaps beside our issue which was good,

I am all most uncomfy now but I should not have eaten so much,

The sports were surely fine and our batt'n so far has taken its end well is either four points ahead or behind the leading batt'n.

Every thing is fine today bye bye as ever your loving son
