Dear Mother:–

I am sitting under a tree where I can watch the sports, the sports consist of a meeting of the cream of the athletes of the entire Brigade so they should be real good

we marched about five miles this A.M. to this sport grounds but it is in a fine place surrounded on three sides by trees, There will be some hurdle jumps to that I will enjoy I like to see the poneys jump if they have good riders, I often watched them in England.

2.30 P.M. 21st

Well Mother: I am under a tree again just enjoying the P.M. we were inoculated last night so some of use are stiff today but not any thing like I was the first time I got it last spring a year ago.

Our machine gun team got a flash torch each for prize I am sending mine home by registered mail today or tomorrow. You just keep it for souvenir. I spent most of yesterday just cleaning up for inspection but it was called off. And I am just as glad. The sports were fine that day our Batt got a strong half of the prizes so that is going some, Our Cornel was well pleased and he had reason to be, we were tickled all over

I received the post cards of use so will enclose them in some letter about the same time as the F. light. There don’t seem to be any thing to write about. I found one bug a few days ago but have no more.

bye bye as ever your loving son Laurie
