Dear Mother:–

The boys are out for a rifle inspection so I thot I would spend a few mi. writing you. At noon I opened a can of Plum pudding from Miss Christie I gave Pete C. Bob B. Bob Mc each some with some thick cream on it it was good I warmed it in water. last night Bobt B. came and asked me to go in to his hut we had cake a dandy sent by Mrs P Banks it was surely fine. Bob Mc treated me to beach nuts loaf sugar and chocolate this a.m. a parcel from Ont.

We are going out for wood now it is good fun.

27th     6.30 P.M.

My Cardiff auxiliary parcel came yesterday sugar, crackers, cocoa a nice cake a treat for 25 of use candy, gum, a good pair of white socks I put them on right away before I went to bed, not that I needed them because I had four good pairs before not a hole in them and clean.

I was on a good work party last night a ride each way on the train, One my first causalty on the field to dress an easy one for a starter.

it was the idealest night. I will tell you of a souvenir I got will send it home when I get to Blighty I saw a plain fall eight thousand feet, not long ago. and I saw the plain. It burnt as soon as it hit the one man lived.

It freezes a little each night and is just a little soft each day.

We have had three treats since supper a dandy cup of tea we made in a can that came with a parcel. Some of the boys are sitting around the stove I am lying on my bed right beside the stove.    We get talking and I can't think to write we have the great old times here each day among our selves.

Well Mother I must read a little now before I go to bed.

I just read the 14th chapter of Romans it is a fine chapter some thing to meditate on that will build a man up.

Good night Mother dear as ever your loving son Laurie
